Donate to Bainbridge Island Rowing

Bainbridge Island Rowing is a non-profit, community-based organization, founded in January 2001, to serve youth and adult rowers throughout Kitsap County, from our base in Waterfront Park on Bainbridge island. Our programs currently support more than almost 100 Junior rowers per season -- spring, summer, and fall -- and some 70-80 Masters annually. Learn-to-Row program are offered each year from early spring through Labor Day.

While we raise most of our operating funds through program fees, we rely in large part on the kindness of friends and strangers -- rowers, parents, friends, and other well-wishers -- for funds to purchase sorely needed new equipment and, longer term, to build the boat house we all dream of having some day.

It's almost here!

DREAM BIG 2011
Saturday, November 12, 6-10 p.m. at Kiana Lodge.

Our goal this year is to raise enough to purchase at least two more carbon fiber racing shells, so that there are enough seats for all our Junior and Master rowings come next spring. With 95 Junior rowers and more than 80 Master rowers on the water regularly this past year, we aren't in Kansas any more! Dream Big 2011 beckons your participation and support.

Still undecided? Take a sneak peak at the program and you'll be convinced.

Click HERE to make your reservation online. $75/person, or sponsor a table of eight for $800. Bring your friends, family, and anyone you'd like to introduce to this great sport -- and this great community resource -- of ours.

Online reservations close at midnight Sunday, November 6.
After 11/6, please contact Diana Christoffersen directly
(email Dchristoffersen@windstream.net or call 206-842-6333).

Michael Johncock, whose daughters Amanda and Rachel were among the first  BIR Junior rowers and who was an enthusiastic parent/supporter in the early days of BIR -- he designed and built our current shed and the first boat racks on the side of the hill above the current restrooms -- passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 24, 2011. His family has asked that donations in lieu of flowers be made to Bainbridge Island Rowing. Click HERE to make a donation in Michael's name.

ONE CALL FOR ALL
Posted Oct 12, 2011

Please note that Bainbridge Island Rowing is also a participating agency in One Call for Call. When you get your red envelope in the mail, you may make a donation directly to BI Rowing on the form. Bainbridge Island Rowing will also get a portion of the total donated to Undesignated, now called Community Pool Fund, based on how many people donate to BI Rowing through the pledge year. Where else can you get more bang for your buck?
