Masters Sweep Rowing

Sweep Masters Rowing Programs 2014

BIR offers several different sweep programs to accomodate a variety of work schedules, rowing goals, competition goals, and levels of rowing experience. See below for details.

If you are interested in a particular program, check first with its coordinator to make sure it's the right program for you; there may be times during preparation for a particular race when it's not appropriate to accomodate new rowers. Then use the Doodle scheduler to let the coach and coordinator(s) know when you'll be at practice.

2014 Sprint Season Doodle

We are targeting three regattas this spring including the Opening Day Invitational (which we should be hearing about soon - a mixed 8 and a ladies 8 were submitted). The doodle addresses the other two:

  • April 12 - 13: Covered Bridge Regatta in Dexter Lake, OR.
  • June 20 - 22: NW Master Regionals at Vancouver Lake, WA.

Saturday and Sunday morning rowing

Weekend rows may have regatta focus on occasion but are generally open "ham and egg" rows involving ALL MASTERS GROUPS to build experience, fitness, and camaraderie. Practice times typically 7:00 - 9:00 AM.

Doodle schedule: Saturday/Sunday Doodle Link

Coordinator: see week-day coordinators below

Coach: Matt Niemeyer and Morgan Seeley

Early morning rowing

This group is shifting to the evening (see below) for an evaluation period in spring 2014. Coordinators/coach are, however, listed/linked below.

If you are game for a rigorous early morning workout and genuinely interested in perfecting your technique to the racing or near-racing level, this program's for you.
